With a vision of discipleship and encouraging people to keep growing closer to God, Leslie Deane-Mountjoy began Guarded Hearts Ministries.
Leslie began writing in 2016, starting with a blog where she shared whatever crossed her mind specifically minded towards her own healing.
Her desire to know more lead her to University. She is currently a student in the Bachelor of Religious Education program at Tyndale University College & Seminary in Toronto, Ontario. Leslie hopes to use her life experience and education to encourage others to grow to their God given potential.

How would your friends describe you?
My friends would say I’m loyal, rambunctious and loving. I care deeply about those in my life, and I try my best to be a good ear, with honest feedback and support. I know they would also likely say that I’m the loudest friend they have.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are things that don’t require too much time commitment. I am super busy raising 4 young children, and maintaining a marriage with a shift worker. I do really enjoy photography, my love for my Nikon is an expensive but fun hobby. I enjoy reading, sewing, cooking and of course the odd Netflix binge!
What is your favourite Holiday?
Ha! Everyone who knows a single thing about me knows this one, Christmas! I love the season of Christmas. It is so awesome to see people thinking of others, giving their time and resources to care about the world. I love the decorations, the lights, the smells and all the delicious food. I love the feeling of walking into a church in the Christmas season and the joy of Christmas morning. I basically love it all, and yes, I prepare for it all year long!
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?
Warning may actually explode glitter with high levels of enthusiasm or be distracted easily… squirrel!
What is your favourite zoo animal?
Polar bears! My favourite stuffy as a child was a white bear, obviously named Snow Bear. Since I was a little kid cuddling with him, I imagined how cool it would be to cuddle a real polar bear. Haven’t got to try that one yet, though!
How would you describe yourself?
I would begin by describing my gratitude for my faith: I’m a Christian and have been since I was 22. I am happily married to an awesome guy, my high school sweetheart Matt. I am the proud Mom to 4 amazing kids, and because I’m all about order I even made a pattern out of it: boy, girl, boy, girl! I am thankful to be a Canadian, born and raised in Ontario. I am passionate about encouraging others to live up to their full potential. I am always encouraging people to crack open their bibles and give them a read. At home, I love being in my pj’s and drinking a nice tea.
Why writing?
Good question! I have always been a talker, but I find it easiest to express myself through written word. I have quite a few incredible people speak into my life and tell me that I need to take writing more seriously, so I began with this blog. Its my hope that I can encourage others, and help bring about some healing to their hearts. I am excited to see how I can draw others closer to God, and hopefully healing and encouragement with my words.
